Dressing for Thanksgiving can be quite simple if you stick to warmer colors that come with the holiday. My favorite outfit colors for this event are burgundy, olive green, navy, cream, and warm, neutral shades of brown. Pick a few colors and then add texture and pattern with tweed, chambray, plaid, and/or leather footwear.
I have six outfits for inspiration – three are more formal and three are more casual. My casual outfits are still on the dressier side because I personally like to dress nicer for the holidays.
Formal:
I love this sweater dress because it’s thicker and has elbow patches. To break up the brown, I added burgundy tights.
This tweed, two-toned skirt makes for the perfect Thanksgiving piece. I normally wear a green or burgundy sweater with it, but a turtle neck would look great too.
I used both texture and pattern in this outfit. The key is to balance it out with neutrals, such as the camel tone sweater and darker navy tights.
Casual but Still Dressed Up:
Keep it simple with a plaid ruffled top and riding boots. It’s an easy outfit that still looks polished.
This is one of my favorite color combinations – burgundy, navy, and a light blue button down. There’s no pattern, so the shoes and collar of the shirt add more interest.
Lastly, this it the most casual outfit with a comfortable flannel, cords, and weather appropriate duck boots. I used jewelry to dress it up a little bit.
What are you wearing for Thanksgiving?
