Lilly for Target

Much like everyone else, I woke up early and headed down to Target to wait in line for the Lilly for Target collaboration. I really had no idea what to expect of this unprecedented event since I live in Michigan and most of the Lilly lovers either live on college campuses or the ever-preppy town of Grosse Pointe. I didn’t know if I would face a line, or be able to leisurely shop with a few others.

IMG_7845 I got there at about 7:30 and was about 10th in line. Shortly thereafter, my mom met up with me to take part in the venture. We planned out a strategy on what to get and ultimately decided to forgo getting any of the clothes. The clothes are cute, but I already have a Lilly shift so I decided the home goods and accessories would suit me best.

I’ve never gone Black Friday shopping, and this is the closest I’ll ever get to it. The others at my store were so polite. There are two entrances right around the corner from one another at the the Target we were at. The front of line was at one entrance and the back of the line wrapped around to the other entrance.  When 8am rolled around and the doors were to be opened, the store opened the door where the back of the line was at first.  I thought that madness was sure to ensure! However, an uproar was avoided because those at the back of the line refused to go in until those who were there before them entered because they said they wanted to be fair.

After thanking them for their kindness, my mother and I entered in to fulfill our plan.  We quickly grabbed a few accessories and then headed (ok, I am ashamed to say I lightly jogged..) over to the home section to grab a coffee mug set. They only had two in stock and upon my arrival in the aisle I met a lady who had already grabbed one of the sets.  When I went to reach for the remaining mug set, she did as well. We both drew our hands back and then she turned to me and said “Oh please dear, you take it”. Once again, these Lilly lovers were so polite!

All in all it was a fun experience and I’m really happy with what I got. See my mom and I’s haul below:

Did you go to Target for the Lilly collaboration? What did you get? How was your experience?

Ah wow! Your neck of the woods is so much more polite than what was down here. I think where I live the people are just much greddier.. It was really astonishing to see people grab everything in sight and not look at sizes. Glad to hear you had a pleasant experience! You can read my crazy story here: Lilly For Target

Sounds like you had a rare experience compared to the others I’ve heard about – glad it went well. It’s always nice to hear about people being gracious during events like this. Love those mugs. I managed to get one shift dress online and called it good!

I got the My Fans pattern. I kind of loved the front detailing on it, so I’m interested to see the quality of the stitching.
