Fleece for Winter

Perfect for weekends and chilly nights, owning a fleece comes in handy during the colder months. I’d argue it gives a little more warmth than your standard sweater, which makes it necessary to wear one when you expect to be outside for long periods of time. I recently went with my friend Julie and a few others to cut down her Christmas tree. It was especially cold that day, so I was glad I had this fleece on underneath my coat. It provided the insulation I needed without the bulk.

When it comes to purchasing a fleece, I recommend getting a heathered version, meaning different muted shades of yarn and woven together to give the garment more texture.. I own both an LL Bean Fleece and Charles River Apparel fleece and love both! I was very pleasantly surprised with the Charles River Apparel one because even though I own both fleeces in an extra small, the CRA one is more of slim fit which I personally like better. The color is a nice oatmeal/gray that goes with everything and layers nicely under vests and other outwear.

Do you own a fleece? What brand is your favorite?

I have the LLBean fleece but in the gray color and I love the throwback label on it. It is really comfy, I wear it on weekends and at night hangin out around the house. I like the CRA one though if it has a slimmer fit!! Good to know, thanks!

It’s definitely a slimmer fit than the LL Bean one, but I do love both and feel that both have a place in my wardrobe. If you have a gray LL Bean one, I’d recommend the dark green CRA fleece!

The throwback label is amazing, I hope LL Bean puts it on more stuff. 🙂

      Thanks for reading!

Hi, I love the fleece and I am worried about the sizing. You mentioned you ordered an xs for the CRA fleece? Just wanted to clarify so I know what size I should order. Thank you!

My original fleece I got an XS (my normal size in other things), and with my second one I got a small. I like the small a lot better because I like to layer underneath it! I would recommend sizing up.

The XS is the oatmeal heather, the S is green and seen in a blog post from this past January.

      Hope this helps!
