Dress c/o Eliza J / Sunglasses Modcloth (on sale for $5.99 currently) / Wedges Tommy Hilfiger similar / Purse Dooney & Bourke / Petticoat
For me, summer is all about red, white, and blue. No three colors look so crisp and brilliant when paired together. Eliza J sent me this dress and I fell in love with everything about it. The material has some weight to it, it’s lined, and the back cut out adds a nice touch. I love the striping on the bottom as it gives interest to the entire dress. You can tell from one glance that the dress is fantastic quality in a style I’ll wear for summers to come. No wonder Town & Country named this the “quintessential red, white, and blue dress”.
I used Eliza J dresses for my bridesmaid dresses so I’m familiar with the utmost quality they put into every dress. A quick look at the Nordstrom website shows the fun, classic styles they offer in shapes that flatter anyone. I tell all my engaged friends to look at Nordstrom, specifically Eliza J, to find bridesmaid dresses that will compliment your wedding yet stand out from the usual “bridesmaid” look.
The trick to giving this look an extra retro vibe is wearing a petticoat underneath. The dress is belted enough where it looks more flared and makes your waist look slimmer. I bought the petticoat originally for another ‘fit and flare’ dress I own, but it makes itself useful when I’m looking for an extra flare in my style.
